A 23-TONNE truck is on its way to the Mid-North Coast to demonstrate the business, health and education opportunities that will soon be possible via high-speed broadband.
Independent Lyne MP Rob Oakeshott is encouraging Manning residents, the first in the Lyne electorate to access the National Broadband Network, to visit the NBN Co Discovery Truck when it rolls into Taree and Port Macquarie next week.
“The NBN will bring opportunity to the Manning,” Mr Oakeshott said.
“Jobs, business, online services in health, aged care and education are about to change the way the Manning connects with the rest of the country and indeed the world.
“And the NBN Discovery Truck is the perfect vehicle to explain those opportunities to businesses and householders.”
The Discovery Truck is an interactive demonstration centre that brings the national broadband to life.
Visitors will receive information on:
• What is the NBN
• How it works
• How you can prepare for the NBN
• What the in-home equipment looks like
Interactive examples of the type of benefits the NBN can deliver for health, education and business services.
Sessions will be held at various times throughout the day and can be booked online at www.nbnco.com.au/demos
The Discovery Truck will be in the Manning Mall Car Park, opposite Taree Public School, on Tuesday, July 31, and at the Food For Less car park in Port Macquarie on Wednesday, August 1.
