SENIORS WEEK ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS PROGRAM NOW OPEN
Independent Member for Port Macquarie, Robert Oakeshott, today invited members of the community to consider nominating someone locally for a senior's achievement award.
"It is always nice to be recognised, and during Seniors Week 2008, it might be nice to surprise someone with some small recognition of service within the seniors community, Mr Oakeshott said.
"It is a simple application process, and copies of the form can be picked up from our office at 2/68 Clarence Street, or by ringing 65-840977, said Mr Oakeshott.
"Up to sixty awards are available for outstanding nominations. A group or an individual can be nominated in areas such as business mentoring, inter-generational understanding, environment, health, education, and volunteering, said Mr Oakeshott.
"An independent panel will assess all nominations, and the NSW winners will be presented with an award at a ceremony in Sydney on Monday 7 April 2008. All nominations will receive a certificate," said Mr Oakeshott.
