PORT MACQUARIE CONGRATULATES CHERYL CORBETT ON HER NOMINATION FOR NSW WOMAN OF THE YEAR

 

Independent MP for Port Macquarie, Robert Oakeshott, today congratulated local resident Cheryl Corbett, on her nomination for the 2007 NSW Woman of the Year Award.

"Cheryl was nominated as a result of her great work with VIEW Clubs of Australia, a group established to promote the Voice, Interests and Education of Women in over 400 communities throughout the country."

"The recognition of Cheryl for this award is a wonderful achievement. The volume of women that the Port Macquarie area presented for this nomination was impressive in both number and worthiness of consideration." Mr. Oakeshott said.

"The emphasis that comes from this award regarding the significance of women in our community is welcomed and much deserved. It suggests that the difference these women make is greatly appreciated and should be applauded. Mr. Oakeshott added.

"On behalf of the Port Macquarie Community, I sincerely congratulate Cheryl on a well deserved nomination." Mr. Oakeshott said today.
