OAKESHOTT WELCOMES SEWERAGE GRANT FOR NORTH SHORE AND CROWDY HEAD. NOW LET'S BUILD IT!

Independent MP for Port Macquarie, Robert Oakeshott, has today welcomed the formal confirmation of grants for sewerage schemes at North Shore and Crowdy Head.

"Crowdy Head was a fight led by the community and I am particularly pleased they have achieved this great outcome. Improved sewerage will help protect the lifestyle of Crowdy Head residents, as well as protect the beautiful Crowdy Head National Park and surrounding waters, Mr Oakeshott said.

"As well, the North Shore scheme is long overdue. There is now substantial residential growth in the area, and the sewerage scheme has been needed for sometime. I am pleased the Government has seen the importance of this, and is now in a position to commit dollars to the scheme, Mr Oakeshott said.

"Obviously, these schemes require partnership with local Councils. The ball is now very much in their court to deliver on these schemes, and I urge both Greater Taree City Council and Port Macquarie-Hastings Council to undertake these important works as a matter of priority" said Mr Oakeshott.
