OAKESHOTT WELCOMES RECREATIONAL FISHING TRUST LOCAL FUNDING

Independent Member for Port Macquarie, Rob Oakeshott, today welcomed nearly $14,000 of funding from the Recreational Fishing Trust to three fishing projects in the local area.

"I congratulate the Harrington Hotel Blue Water Fishing Club, the Laurieton United Servicemen's Club Fishing Club and the Port Macquarie Blue Water Fishing Club for their successful funding applications, Mr Oakeshott said.

" The Recreational Fishing Trust is set up to distribute monies collected by the introduction of the Recreational Fishing Licence Fee, so it is good to see that funding is going to local facilities, to support the large number of local and visiting fishers who contribute to this programme.

"The local funding has been granted as follows
- Crowdy Head boat ramp lighting - $6,123.00
- Fish cleaning table, Laurieton - $2,500.00
- Fish cleaning table, Westport Park, Port Macquarie - $5,000.00

"Any individual or group wishing to apply for funding through this programme should contact our office on 6584 0977 for further details.' Mr Oakeshott said.
