OAKESHOTT WELCOMES CROWDY HEAD PROJECTS ON SEWERAGE AND SURFCLUB
Independent MP for Port Macquarie, Robert Oakeshott, today welcomed two important projects for Crowdy Head when he visited today, Monday 19th March.
The first project is the "turning of the sod" at the Crowdy Head Surf-Club, where $218,000 has been received this year for the complete refurbishment of the surf-club in this, their 50th anniversary year. I will be pleased to follow the progress of this upgrade, and we will hopefully see the completion of these works by next summer, Mr Oakeshott said.
"This is also an opportunity for anyone in the area to consider joining this great surf-club, and participating in the club during next summer's patrols and carnivals, said Mr Oakeshott.
"The second project I am pleased to see progressing is the issue of the Crowdy Head sewerage. I am pleased that we, as a community, have successfully lobbied to get Crowdy Head pushed up the priority list of projects waiting for completion throughout NSW. This was a year long battle that I am pleased to see rewarded with a good outcome for the Crowdy Head community, said Mr Oakeshott.
"The government has now recognised the importance of the sewerage scheme to Crowdy, and it is now up to government to allocate as much money as possible, supported by MidCoast Water and Council allocating any resources they can, so that the cost to the resident is minimised as much as possible, Mr Oakeshott said
"Both these projects are important for the future of Crowdy Head and for Harrington life in general. I am pleased to see good progress on both of them" Mr Oakeshott said.
