OAKESHOTT WELCOMES 4 NEW HOUSES UNDER COMMUNITY HOUSING PROGRAM
Independent MP for Port Macquarie, Robert Oakeshott, today announced $1.3 million of investment in four properties in Port Macquarie to be managed by Community Housing Mid-North Coast, as part of a drive to improve crisis accommodation in the local area.
"Crisis accommodation is an issue right throughout NSW, and the Mid-North Coast is not immune from homelessness, or people at risk in their current living conditions, Mr Oakeshott said.
"The more crisis accommodation that can be provided the better, and these four new properties at a cost of $1.3 million will be very welcome, Mr Oakeshott said.
State Agency partners in these four new houses include Community Housing Mid-North Coast, Justice Health, Department of Corrective Services, and Youth Housing Support Mid-North Coast.
"This is some of the more difficult work of Government working with some of the more difficult situations that people find themselves in. I therefore welcome four more houses being provided to assist in this work, Mr Oakeshott said today.
