OAKESHOTT FIRST MP TO LAUNCH ON myspace

 

Independent MP for Port Macquarie, Robert Oakeshott, today launched the first Myspace website for a local MP in NSW.

"The Myspace generation is large and more and more communication is happening on-line, through formats such as YouTube and Myspace, Mr Oakeshott said.

"I was reminded of this when a first-time voter presented himself in the local newspaper, suggesting he wasn't aware of the local issues nor the local candidates. It is important, therefore, for all of us involved in politics to keep connecting with the next generation of community decision-makers, said Mr Oakeshott.

"Anyone can visit the Myspace website at www.myspace.com/oakeshottindependent, and I encourage any feedback at all on issues in the local area," Mr Oakeshott said today.
