OAKESHOTT EXPRESSES CONCERNS AT B-DOUBLE USE ON COUNCIL ROADS

Independent MP for Port Macquarie, Robert Oakeshott, today supported the position of the Traffic Advisory Committee at their meeting to reject B-Doubles on local Council roads.

"The traffic advisory committee is recommending a sensible position. I hope the general Council sees the safety issues at stake and supports the Traffic Advisory Committee in their strong position on this, Mr Oakeshott said.

"We are starting to see more and more pressure on our local roads from increased population. B-Doubles and busy country roads are not a good match, said Mr Oakeshott.
