OAKESHOTT CONGRATULATES MID NORTH COAST AREA DISABILITY COMMITTEE WITH $140,000 CONTRACT
Independent MP for Port Macquarie, Robert Oakeshott, has today congratulated the Mid-North Coast Area Disability Committee on their $140,000 contract to improve advocacy services on the Mid-North Coast for people with disabilities.
"This is an important breakthrough in getting the issues of our area bought to the attention of Government, and over time getting more resources allocated as a result, Mr Oakeshott said.
"The service will be run on the Mid-North Coast, and is under the umbrella of Disability Advocacy NSW Incorporated, located in Newcastle. The $140,000 of State money complements the welcome $22,500 from the Federal Government for the same service, said Mr Oakeshott.
"This will assist with lobbying, and on behalf of people with a disability in our region, I welcome this good news, Mr Oakeshott said.
