OAKESHOTT INDEPENDENT

INQUEST CALLED INTO SCHOOL DEATH ON LORNE ROAD

 

Independent MP for Port Macquarie, Robert Oakeshott, welcomed today's announcement of a coronial inquest into the death of Zoey Hughes on Lorne Road last May.

The matter is listed for mention on Monday 12th March at 10am, when the Senior Coroner will determine the suitable dates, estimated length of hearing and what witnesses are to be called.

"I have spoken with the Hughes family and they also welcome an Inquest, and are hopeful that a fully transparent process will allow all issues in relation to the death to be addressed, including any possible safety improvements along Lorne Road into the future, Mr Oakeshott said today.
