FIRE BRIGADE NEEDS TO LOCK IN THEIR DEAL ON COMBINED EMERGENCY CENTRE, SAYS OAKESHOTT
With the Ambulance Station move now complete, with the SES move close to having DA approval, the NSW Fire Brigade now needs to push their negotiations forward as the final service to move into the Combined Emergency Centre in Port Macquarie, Independent MP for Port Macquarie, Robert Oakeshott said today.
"This will be a stand-out emergency service model in NSW when all three services are co-located on the one site and will have the ability to respond in a co-ordinated fashion to any number of emergencies that may present themselves. The Ambulance service has completed their move and from all accounts are extremely happy, the SES are close to starting construction with their DA now, finally, rapidly progressing through Council, so the NSW Fire Brigade need to get a wiggle-on as far as their move is concerned, said Mr Oakeshott today.
"I understand design drawings are complete, and it is the negotiations over land between the Fire Brigade and the Council that have stalled. I would hope both parties recognise the greater good and push for an outcome, Mr Oakeshott said today.
