2 COMPUTERS FOR VOLUNTEER MUSEUM
Modern day technology and local history were combined today, through the donation of two laptop computers to the Mid North Coast Maritime Museum, local Independent Member for Port Macquarie, Rob Oakeshott, announced today.
"The NSW Parliament has a program of distributing redundant laptop computers to local communities via local not-for-profit organisations, Mr Oakeshott said.
" The donation of these two computers will allow the use of better technologies to store and present the valuable information and the history that the Museum has under it's care.
Mr Oakeshott presented the computers to the Mid-North Coast Maritime Museum's Co-odinator, Ross Geary, at their William Street site.
"The state has donated to the museum in the recent past, with $5000 to the Goniemah restoration, and $62,000 to the restoration of the wharf at their Hibbard Drive site.
"The donation of these computers continues the acknowledgement of the good work done by some strong volunteers" Mr Oakeshott said
